SICAO High-end Design | Hong Kong Luxury Cigar Room: Take just one more look and you'll be hooked!

In the second half of 2023, the three cigar rooms customized by SICAO for the Hong Kong Fortnum Pacific Cigar Club were successively delivered and put into use. 
Cigars have a certain maturation period and have very strict requirements for storage temperature and humidity. A professional cigar room is a test of the construction者的 skills. Thousands of high-quality cigars will be aged here, and every step and detail must be flawless. 
Fortis Pacific was extremely cautious when choosing a customizer for its tomato houses. After thorough consideration, it finally selected the New Chaogao Design team, which has over ten years of industry experience and has completed hundreds of custom tomato house projects.

The first cigar room artwork in this case is located at 15 Kai-sedan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It covers an area of over 80 square meters and features meticulously crafted pure wood decorations, creating a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. 
In terms of space layout, the storage, display and tasting requirements of cigars were fully considered. Functional areas such as the sales area, bulk storage area, storage area, aging area and VIP tasting area were planned, which can comprehensively cover most of the usage scenarios after the cigar room is established.



Through the clear glass floor-to-ceiling windows, what comes into view is the cigar storage area bathed in soft warm light. This includes a display stand of loose cigars made of cedar wood and a whole wall of wooden selling racks. 
On the specially designed cigar display stand, a wide variety of cigars of different brands and models are neatly arranged. The specially designed LED lights are soft and do not cause glare. Coupled with the cigar box placement station that can be easily accessed, guests can enjoy tasting cigars right there, clearly appreciating the details of the cigars.

The bulk cigar display counter is specially designed for cigar enthusiasts who are eager to try new brands and novice smokers who are just starting out. The neatly stacked and laid-out cigars offer a variety of rare and new products, making it convenient for display while also ensuring proper storage and maintenance. The diverse flavors will surely evoke a sense of joy and excitement for the visitors as they browse through the selection.

Walking slowly through the display area, one first arrives at the cigar storage section. Here, it resembles a cigar bank constructed of cedar wood. Each specially designed cigar cabinet is equipped with a number and a password lock, used to store various cigars cherished by VIP customers. Experienced professionals take good care of them.

Immediately adjacent to the storage area is the secluded cigar tasting area. It continues the rustic style of the cigar room and is complemented by specially dimmed lighting, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere where guests can fully relax, rest, and chat about the cigars.

After the first cigar room was successfully completed, SICAO went on to customize two more cigar rooms for Fortis Pacific, located in Central and Causeway Bay of Hong Kong respectively. Tailoring solutions to local conditions, providing complete projects with one-on-one services, detailed engineering drawings and 3D models, allowing customers to easily predict the final effect. 
During the construction period of over 100 days, the project manager, along with the designers and engineers, continuously supervised the project to ensure its completion on time and to the required quality.


Among them, the temperature and humidity inside the tobacco curing rooms are of crucial importance. The new regime is accustomed to adapting to local conditions, and tailoring flexible equipment installation plans based on the geographical characteristics of each tobacco curing room. 
For the cooling and dehumidification requirements in the southern regions and the heating and humidification requirements in the northern regions, through reasonable equipment design and debugging, the intelligent control system can be optimally optimized to the greatest extent, avoiding the increase of equipment and energy consumption, in order to ensure the lifespan of the equipment and the control of the occupied space.


Cigars have extremely high requirements for temperature and humidity, which is the core challenge in cigar room customization. 
The new regime has adopted its independently developed temperature and humidity control equipment. In various climate conditions and within different space areas, this equipment can maintain a stable temperature and humidity level in the cigar room, safeguarding the quality and taste of the cigars.

Moreover, the rich essential oil content of cedarwood can not only repel cigar beetles during the storage process but also accelerate the maturation of cigars and enhance their aroma, helping to achieve the peak flavor of the cigars.
